Featured Book:  A House Divided
Times of trouble are descending upon the Black family in more ways than one. Will they be able to overcome their challenges and stand together against someone who could take it all away? Or is the Black family finally out of miracles?

BPM:   What topics does your latest Curtis Black book address?  Why?
A HOUSE DIVIDED addresses the subject of mothers and the struggle some tend to have when it comes to allowing an adult child to make his or her own decisions and mistakes.  It also focuses on what can happen to a family when a parent tries to control an adult child and force him or her to do only what they want them to do--which is what Charlotte Black does to Matthew in the worst possible way.  I can't imagine what it must feel like having a controlling mother or father, but the reason I wanted to write about this topic is because, unfortunately, I do know a number of adult children who have distanced themselves from their parents for this very reason.

BPM:   You believe strongly in:
I believe strongly in God, myself, and family values.

BPM:   You are humbled by:
I am deeply humbled by God and by my amazing readers.

BPM:   Faith allows you to:
Faith allows me to do things I never thought imaginable or things I thought I would never have the courage to even try to do.  So for years now, my motto in life has been to:  "Believe in God, believe in yourself, and believe in whatever it is you are trying to accomplish---believe in that order."

BPM:   When you are afraid, you will:
When I am afraid or worried about anything, I pray, pray, pray until God removes the spirit of fear and worry from me completely.

BPM:   What have you learned from your readers:
What I have learned from my readers is that even when people have never met you, they can still be some of the kindest and most loyal people in the world.  My readers are absolutely the best, and they are the reason I am able to have a writing career.

BPM:   Your greatest accomplishment as a writer:
I have been blessed with many accomplishments as a writer, but my greatest accomplishment to date is winning the 2013 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work - Fiction.

BPM:   If this world were yours:
If this world were mine, every single person alive would treat others the way they want to be treated.

BPM:   Your writing educates, illuminates or entertains:
Because I write about real-life social issues that can affect anyone, I believe my writing educates and entertains all at the same time.
