I am most surprised at becoming a novelist because writing was never a life-long dream of mine. I had always been encouraged by teachers in elementary, jr. high and high school and even by professors in college, but I never took their comments seriously.
BPM: What you learned from your readers:
I have learned from my readers that they are the ultimate reason I write one novel after another. They are the wonderful people who constantly support me and encourage me, and I am beyond grateful to them for everything.
BPM: Do you view writing as a gift or a career:
I view writing as both a gift and a career. I believe writing is a gift from God, which is the reason I pray for every writing session, and it is also a career because publishing books on any level is a business.
BPM: Advice you would give a new author:
Learn everything you can about the craft of writing and the business of publishing. Also, research and learn everything relating to promoting, marketing, publicizing a book.
BPM: Life's greatest teacher is:
Life's greatest teacher is the loss of a loved one.
