In this season of Lent, when we're invited to put down whatever is weighing us down, turning our hearts instead to repentance with deliverance--one wise step will start the process. Look to Jesus. I'm doing that today, after a writing-filled month, filling this newsletter, not with news about me--but with a prayer for us all.

May it be a reminder of the privilege we enjoy. To seek Him. To pray first. To leave it be. Then let it go. Then watch Him work. "For my yoke is easy,"Jesus says, "and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:30)

A Prayer for Lent
Your grace, O God, leads us from ourselves
And our dependence upon ourselves
And our preoccupation with ourselves
And our sorrow about ourselves
And our worry for ourselves
Back to You.

Welcome us there
In the shadow of your power.

Our place of rest.
Our home for healing.
Our hospital of renewal
Our strong tower of safety.
Our school of wisdom.
Our refuge of comfort.
Our sanctuary of protection.

Then remind us after Lent
To stay right there
With You Forever.
With His peace!

Joel 2:12-14  -  King James Version (KJV)
12 Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:

13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the Lord your God?
